Did your forehead move.

Now it knows.

The camera

Your phone already knows your muscles.

ARKit turns a face into 52 coefficients, each one a number between 0 and 1, each one a movement. Below the Skin reads 21 of them today.

Point at a name. The face does that one movement.

A schematic face at rest, the three findings drawn on it: jaw, forehead, the two sides of the smile.

Test 1 of 3

Four-Finger Test

Open your mouth as wide as it goes.

There. Hold it.

Guarded

Your jaw stops early. Your masseter is holding on.

Test 2 of 3

Look-up Test

Look up with your eyes only.

Your forehead is helping. Let it rest.

Helping

Your forehead helps you look up. That is where the line comes from.

Test 3 of 3

Symmetry Check

Smile toward your ears, and hold it.

One side is doing more. Let the other join.

Leaning

One side works harder. Your face has a favourite.

Tension Map

Ninety seconds

Three tests. Then a map.

About ninety seconds in front of the camera. Each test reads one thing, and the map keeps it.

  1. 01Sit tall. Shoulders down, jaw heavy.
  2. 02Open slowly — four fingers wide.
  3. 03Stay open while the ring fills.
  1. 01Head still. Chin stays level.
  2. 02Lift your gaze, not your brows.
  3. 03Did your forehead move.
  1. 01Rest your face first. Let it go.
  2. 02Then smile wide and keep it there.
  3. 03Both sides. No favourite.

Her method

I improve faces by fixing what’s below the skin.

Anastasia Goron

Release before you strengthen.

Half of this is your hands. Find where the tension sits, release it, then teach the muscle to lift. The app runs that order, in her words.

  1. 01Diagnosemeasured

The audit takes ninety seconds and shows you where your tension sits.

  2. 02Releasehands only

Knuckles on the jaw muscle, just below the cheekbone. Small circles, slow. Breathe out through the mouth.

  3. 03Activatecounted

The Wow: 8 seconds, 3 sets. Then the Cheek Lifter, 10 reps. The camera counts them and tells you when your forehead is helping.

  4. 04Maintainremembered

The days you showed up, and what your face said about them. No score, no curve.

28exercises in the library

5routines, in her order

60 sof release, untracked on purpose

Sixty seconds of the session are hands on the face. Fingers cover the muscle. The camera has nothing left to read, so the app stops counting and says so: Hands on. I stop watching here — your fingers are in the way, and that is the point.

Her routines

  • The Full Morning
  • Morning, Body First
  • Before an Event
  • Her Own Morning
  • Ten Minutes, Rebuilt

Her sequences, in the order she does them. The last one is rebuilt from her rule — she never published that one.

Live

It counts. It notices. It speaks.

The camera is on while you work. It keeps the count, it sees the muscle that came along, and it says so in her words — while the rep is still running.

  1. Hold
    Sets

    01it counts

    The Wow

The hold runs only while the jaw stays open. Let it fall and the eight seconds start again. Three sets, and nobody has to watch a clock.

cueOpen wide. Like a yawning lion.

    voiceThere. Hold it.

  2. 10

    Reps
    Symmetry

    02it notices

    Cheek Lifter

A rep lands when the smile crosses the line and comes back down. Ten of them. Both sides are read on their own, so the side that does less has nowhere to hide.

cueLips over teeth. Smile toward your ears.

    voiceCheeks lifted. Forehead stayed quiet.

  3. A schematic face, the cheeks lit and the forehead marked as helping.

Your forehead is helping. Let it rest.

    03it speaks

    When the forehead joins in

The Cheek Lifter watches two neighbours: the forehead and the under-eyes. Cross either limit and the app names the muscle that came along, while the rep is still running.

voiceI read the cues out loud while your hands are busy.

The count runs while the muscle does.

Anatomy Mirror

Your muscles, where they actually sit.

The app draws twelve muscle regions on your own face and names what each one does. Move one and watch it light up.

A schematic face of points and lines, the twelve muscle regions drawn on it, the masseter lit.
MasseterIn the app the camera lights the region while the muscle works. Here it follows your scroll.
  1. Masseter

Your clenching muscle. It works all night without asking.

  2. Temporalis

The fan above your ear. It closes your jaw with the masseter.

  3. Frontalis

Your surprise muscle. It lifts your brows — and it loves to help with everything.

  4. Galea aponeurotica

The sheet across your skull. Your forehead pulls on it all day.

This one sits below the camera’s map. Here it is on the diagram.

  5. Procerus & corrugator

The two between your brows. They pull down while you concentrate.

  6. Orbicularis oculi

The ring around your eye. It squints, it blinks, it rarely rests.

  7. Zygomaticus

It lifts your cheek when you smile. This is the one we train.

  8. Orbicularis oris

The ring around your mouth. Pucker, whistle, drink through a straw.

  9. Buccinator

Your cheek wall. It holds food against your teeth while you chew.

  10. Depressor anguli oris

It pulls the corners of your mouth down. It works more than you think.

  11. Platysma

The sheet over your neck. It runs from your collarbone up to your jaw.

This one sits below the camera’s map. Here it is on the diagram.

  12. Sternocleidomastoid

The rope down the side of your neck. It turns your head.

This one sits below the camera’s map. Here it is on the diagram.

The market

Nobody measures.

Face yoga apps sell the routine. They hand you the exercise, then trust you to do it right — and what your face actually did stays between you and the mirror.

  1. Luvlyar coach

    A rudimentary AR coach.

  2. Kokophotos

    Photo analysis.

  3. Glowbevideos

    Videos.

  4. Below the Skinlive

Live measurement: reps, holds, compensation, symmetry.

None of them can tell you that your forehead is helping.

Each one described the way it describes itself. Nothing here says how well they work — only what they read while you do the exercise.

What it will never do

It will never rate your face.

Three things the app does not do. They were decided before the first screen, and they hold — a face yoga app that scores faces would be working against her method.

  1. 01no score

    It gives you a map.

There is no Face Score in the app and there will not be one. The audit leaves a Tension Map: where the jaw holds, how much of the looking the forehead does, how far each side lifts. No golden ratio, no percentile, nothing to beat.

  2. 02on this phone

    The camera stays here.

The front camera reads your muscles while you work, and the reading stays in the device. No account, no upload, no server that could be asked for it. Nothing is recorded. Nothing leaves this phone.

  3. 03her words

    No machine voice.

The cues, the corrections and the line at the end are templates in her own sentences, picked by what the camera measured. There is no language model in the prototype, and nothing improvises in her voice.

The prototype has no backend and no login. That is a decision about what the app is for, and it is also why the demo needs nothing but the phone.
